Recycling of PEM Stacks – Current Status and Challenges to be Tackled

Heraeus Precious Metals Talks 2024
Heraeus Precious Metals Talks 2024

The Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) is an established technology for electrolysis and fuel cells. The use of PEM stacks is growing, and they will increasingly become subject to recycling in the coming years, as they contain valuable raw materials (such as precious metals) and parts, which can be reused.

Where does the industry currently stand regarding stack recycling? Which possible business models exist? What challenges need to be tackled and overcome?

What needs to happen when? Where is government support needed? Discuss with experts and your peers!
